Help
Short answers to the things coaches and athletes ask most.
Setting up your business
- Go to Threshr, create an account and choose I coach athletes.
- Enter your business name, tick the sports you coach and roughly how many athletes you have.
- You're the owner and head coach. A checklist on your calendar walks you through the rest.
New businesses may need a quick approval from Threshr before adding athletes — you'll see a note at the top of your calendar while you wait.
Today: who needs you
Coaches land on Today. It lists only the athletes who need something from you, most urgent first:
- Pain reported in the last 7 days (worst first, and higher if it's getting worse).
- Missed sessions in the last 7 days from weeks they could see.
- Unread messages, with the latest line.
- Recovery flags from their morning numbers (see below).
- Plan running out: nothing published for this week, or nothing after Sunday.
- Tough check-ins: felt poor, or an easy session rated 8/10 or harder.
- Failed payments, if you take payments in Threshr.
Tap a group at the top to see just that. Done for today hides an athlete on your device until something new comes up. Everyone else is listed under On track.
Coaching from your phone
Open Threshr in your phone's browser (or add it to your home screen). You get a bottom bar with Today, Calendar and Messages, and Athletes opens your list. Each week shows day by day, top to bottom. Tap a session to edit it, as on a computer.
Kilometres or miles
Everyone picks their own. Coaches: Units at the bottom of the sidebar. Athletes: Profile → Units. Distances, paces (min/mi) and speeds (mph) change. What a coach types in a session description stays as they wrote it. Threshr saves everything in kilometres, so a coach in km and an athlete in miles see the same session.
Adding and inviting athletes
- Click + next to Athletes in the sidebar and enter their name and goal.
- Click Invite, then Create link, and send the link by text, email or WhatsApp.
- They create an account from the link, answer your intake questions, and their plan appears.
For a whole group, use a squad link (Team → Athletes → Squad link). Pick a team if you like, create the link and drop it in the group chat or your bio. Everyone who opens it makes an account and lands on your list — in that team, with its coach — with your intake questions waiting in their app. You get a notification for each person. Squad links work for 30 days; make a new one any time.
Set each athlete's paces from the pace chip on their week — every pace target is built from them. Change the intake questions under Team → Intake.
Coaches and head coaches
- Head coaches see every athlete and coach, move athletes between coaches and manage the staff.
- Coaches see only the athletes assigned to them.
- Invite coaches from Team → Coaches. Each coach needs their own login — signing in on a second device signs the first one out.
Sessions, blocks and publishing
- Click + on any day to add a session. Build it from steps (warm-up, repeats, cool-down) with pace, heart-rate or power targets, pick a template, or describe it in plain words.
- Block → New block sets up a named run of weeks with a goal race; phases lay themselves out.
- Athletes only see weeks you Publish. Changes after publishing show as "changed" until you publish again, and the athlete gets a notice listing what changed.
- Preview athlete app shows exactly what they'll see.
Planning a whole team
Put athletes in a team under Team → Teams. Plan one athlete's week or block, then click Copy to team. Pace targets are scaled to each athlete's own paces, heart rate to their max HR, and power stays as % of FTP. Choose whether to replace sessions they already have and whether to publish straight away.
Messaging a squad
Click Message a squad on Today, or Squad on Messages. Pick a team (or everyone you coach), write it once, send. Each athlete gets it in their own chat with you, with a notification. Their replies come back to you alone, not to the whole group.
Selling training plans
- Build the plan in a calendar. A spare "template" athlete works best (e.g. "10k plan template"), so a real athlete's changes don't creep in.
- Open Payments → New training plan. Pick the athlete, the first week and how many weeks (or tap a block). Set a name and price.
- Tick Anyone with the sale link can buy it to sell outside your club. Copy the link from the plan card and share it on your website, Instagram or in an email.
Buyers choose the Monday they start and pay by card. The weeks then appear in their Training tab, already published, and they join your athlete list under the coach you chose. You get a notification.
Athletes who already pay you for ongoing coaching don't see ready-made plans — you write their plan yourself.
Changing the plan later doesn't affect people who have already bought it. Buyers count as athletes on your Threshr bill while they're on your list, so remove them under Team when they finish.
Recovery: resting heart rate, HRV and sleep
Each morning athletes see a Morning check on Today. They copy resting HR, HRV and hours of sleep from their watch or ring app, then rate how they slept. It takes about 20 seconds, and they can skip anything they don't track.
After four mornings Threshr knows their usual range. It flags a resting HR 5 or more above usual, HRV 15% or more below usual, or under 6 hours' sleep. Flags show on Today and in the week header. Click the header chip to see 4-week trends. Automatic import from watches comes with the watch connection.
Moving from TrainingPeaks
- In TrainingPeaks, open the athlete's calendar and go to Settings → Export Data. Export Workouts (CSV) for the dates you want, past and planned. For full GPS and heart-rate detail, also export the workout files (.zip).
- In Threshr, go to Team → Move athletes over (or Import history next to an athlete), pick the athlete and choose both files.
- Finished sessions go into their history, progress charts and load. Planned sessions land in your calendar as drafts, so nothing reaches the athlete until you publish.
Garmin Connect and Strava exports work the same way, and so does any CSV with date, title, sport and distance or duration columns.
Your data is never locked in. Team → Export downloads an athlete's sessions (planned and done) as a spreadsheet, and Export everyone does your whole list. Athletes can do the same from Profile → Your data.
HYROX and hybrid sessions
- Pick Hybrid as the sport (or Strength), then build the session from runs, the eight HYROX stations, lifts and rests. You can also start from a preset: full or half race simulation, compromised running, sleds and carries, or lower- or upper-body strength.
- Station weights follow the division you choose (Open or Pro, women or men). Change any weight or distance on a single station. Sled weights include the sled. Check the current season's rulebook, because standards can change.
- Add a demo video link to any lift, and athletes get a Demo button.
- Athletes tap Log sets and times to record each station time and each set's reps and weight. Their station bests and best lifts show on Progress, and on the HYROX button above their week.
- Race results: athletes add them from Progress, and can paste the split table straight from the results page. The analysis shows running, station and Roxzone time, how their runs faded from Run 1 to Run 8, the slowest run, and every split compared with their previous race.
Ratings and reactions
Athletes rate a session in one tap (3 easy → 10 all out) from the session or from Today, and can add legs, pain and a note if they want. Coaches see ratings on Today under Latest sessions and react with 👏 🔥 💪 🎯 ❤️. The athlete sees the reaction on the session and gets a notification.
Training load: fitness, fatigue and form
Every finished session gets a load score, based on how long and how hard it was against the athlete's own paces, power or heart rate (or their effort rating if that's all there is). Fitness is the six-week average, fatigue the one-week average, and form the gap between them. Coaches see it under Block; athletes see it on Progress. Each day on the calendar is coloured by how closely it matched the plan: within 20%, 20–50% off, more than 50% off, or missed.
Weekly recap and sharing
From Monday to Wednesday, athletes see last week on Today: distance, sessions, hours, longest run, their streak of weeks hitting the plan, and how many sessions their coach reacted to. Share makes a picture for Instagram or Strava that says who coached them. Your year is a free year in review, with its own share card.
Installing Threshr
Threshr works as an app without an app store. On iPhone, open it in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android or in Chrome/Edge on a computer, tap Install when Threshr offers it (Today or Profile), or use the browser menu → Install. It opens full screen, shows notifications, and opens your last-seen plan when you have no signal.
Pricing and billing
- One price: A$5 per athlete a month, or A$50 a year (two months free), GST included. Coaches are free and unlimited, and every feature is included. See Pricing.
- Every business gets a 30-day free trial with up to 25 athletes. A head coach starts the subscription under Billing.
- Your bill follows your roster automatically: add or remove an athlete and it's adjusted to the day.
- Manage your card, invoices or cancel from Billing → Card, invoices and cancelling.
- If a plan lapses, coaches can still see and message everyone but can't add athletes or publish. Athletes are never cut off.
Getting paid by athletes
- Open Payments and click Connect Stripe (head coaches). Sign in to your Stripe account or create one — Stripe asks for your business details, ABN and bank account.
- Click New package: a name, a price in A$ (GST included if you're registered), monthly, weekly or one-off, and what's included — one line each.
- Your athletes see your packages on their Coach tab and pay by card on Stripe's secure page. The money goes to your Stripe account and Stripe pays it into your bank.
- Threshr takes no fee on these payments — you pay only Stripe's own card fees.
- Payments shows subscribers, what's come in and any failed payments. Coaches see only their own athletes; head coaches see everyone and can cancel a subscription.
- Refunds and payout dates are in your Stripe dashboard. Refunds show in Threshr automatically, and Threshr gives back the same share of its fee.
- Changing a package's price only affects new sign-ups. Archive a package to take it off sale; current subscribers carry on.
Paying your coaches. Athletes pay the business, not individual coaches, and Threshr never pays coaches or takes a cut. Head coaches see a By coach table on Payments — athletes, subscribers and what each coach's athletes paid in the last 30 days — so you can pay your coaches however you already do.
Joining your coach (athletes)
Open the invite link your coach sent, create an account with your email, and tap Join. Your coach's questions come first, then your plan. No link? Ask your coach — you can also paste the link on the "I'm an athlete" screen.
Paying your coach
If your coach takes payments in Threshr, their packages are on the Coach tab. Tap Subscribe or Pay to pay by card on Stripe's secure page — Threshr never sees your card. Under Your coaching you can update your card, get receipts, or cancel; a cancelled subscription runs to the end of what you've paid for. Leaving your coach's business or deleting your account cancels it too.
Check-ins, messages and watch files
- Today shows today's session and your week at a glance, colour-coded easy, quality and race.
- After a session, tap it and add a check-in — effort, legs, how you felt and any pain. It takes about 20 seconds.
- Comment on any session or chat with your coach from the Coach tab.
- To record what you did, export the file from your watch app (.FIT, .GPX or .TCX) and tap Upload watch file on the session. Structured sessions can be sent to a Garmin with Send to my watch.
Booking time off
Going on holiday, away for work or sick? Tap Book time off on Today (or Profile → Time off), pick the type and dates, add a note if you like, and book it. Your coach gets a message straight away, the days show as time off on their calendar, and their Today screen flags any sessions planned in those days so they can move them. You can cancel it the same way.
Your plan in your own calendar
Profile → Training in your calendar → Add my plan to my calendar. Then tap Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook. Sessions show as all-day events and update when your coach changes the plan. Calendar apps check every hour or so, and Google can take longer.
Keep the link to yourself. If it gets out, Make a new link switches the old one off.
Notifications
Threshr emails you — and, if you turn it on, notifies your phone — when your coach publishes or changes your training, when you get a message, and if a payment fails. Phones also get reactions (athletes), plus check-ins, time off and race results (coaches). You can turn on email for these too. Nothing is sent about things you've already seen in the app. Choose what you get under Account → Notifications, or use the link at the bottom of any email.
- Android and computers: tap Turn on notifications on your Today screen, or in Account.
- iPhone: in Safari tap Share → Add to Home Screen, open Threshr from the new icon, then turn notifications on. iPhones only allow notifications for apps on the Home Screen.
- Not getting them? Check notifications for Threshr (or your browser) are allowed in your phone's settings.
Two-step sign-in (coaches)
Because Threshr holds athletes' health information, coaches can add a code from an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password…) to their sign-in: Account → Two-step sign-in → Set up, scan the code and enter the 6 digits. Head coaches can require it for every coach in the business. Lost your phone? Ask Threshr support to reset it.
Each coach login works on one device at a time — signing in somewhere else signs the other device out.
Your account and data
Open Account (coaches: bottom of the sidebar; athletes: Profile → Account settings) to change your name, email or password, download your data, leave your business or delete your account. See the Privacy Policy for how your information is handled.
